Multi‑Skilled Engineer – Production Site

About the role

We are seeking two Multi‑Skilled Engineers to join our specialist production site on the Isle of Bute, where we manufacture a range of dairy‑free branded products. This hands‑on position will involve working across a variety of equipment to support site efficiency, continuous improvement and new product scale‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, maintain and service equipment safely in line with OEM manuals and site procedures.
• Improve asset care standards and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Analyse maintenance data to drive continuous improvement projects and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in the site CMMS and ensure proper documentation archiving.
• Provide technical guidance for planning and execution of maintenance activities.
• Manage contractors and coordinate with operations, quality and technical teams to communicate timelines and obtain necessary approvals.
• Support R&D activities by preparing lines for scale‑up of new product introductions.

Required profile

• HNC or HND qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with a broad range of food‑production equipment.
• Ability to carry out fault‑finding, preferably with PLCs (nice to have).
• Experience using lean manufacturing tools and working in a TPM environment.
• Knowledge of permits‑to‑work, LOTO procedures and other site H&S requirements.
• Proficiency with a CMMS and ability to interpret data to improve plant efficiency.
