Multi‑Skilled Engineering Technician – Harlow

About the role

We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Engineering Technician to support the maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of production and site equipment at our Harlow facility. The role involves both planned and reactive work across electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring high equipment uptime and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment faults to minimise production downtime.
• Conduct inspections and compliance checks on plant and equipment.
• Support engineering projects, equipment installations and commissioning activities.
• Maintain accurate records using a CMMS system.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and OEE.
• Support health and safety activities, including risk assessments and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Liaise with suppliers and equipment manufacturers to resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support and training to operational teams.

Required profile

• HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge of CMMS systems and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and/or Inspection & Testing qualifications.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, SMED or Six Sigma is advantageous.
