Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Double Days)

About the role

We are seeking a multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturer in Blackburn on a double‑days shift. The role combines electrical and mechanical expertise to keep production running smoothly in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Reactive maintenance and fault finding across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Implement long‑term fixes to minimise repeat breakdowns.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and improve maintenance plans.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives such as TPM, Lean and Root Cause Analysis.
• Conduct risk assessments, ensure safe work practices and support audit activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders and shift handovers.
• Manage spare‑parts usage, report stock issues and assist inventory control.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Apprentice‑trained (desirable) and HNC/HND (advantageous).
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or factory setting.
• Strong multi‑skilled knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently under pressure.
