Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading engineering support company in Kendal. Working a double‑day shift pattern, you will maintain and optimise a wide range of automated equipment across manufacturing, hospitality and pharmaceutical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day electrical and basic mechanical maintenance on industrial batch washers, presses, conveyors, dryers, ironers, folders, stackers and shrink‑wrap machines.
• Diagnose faults, carry out repairs and implement corrective actions to maximise machine uptime.
• Maintain water‑filtration and boiler softening plant, including routine boiler servicing.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and support project‑based improvement work.
• Work within a PLC‑controlled automated environment following strict safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Completed an apprenticeship in electrical engineering.
• Experience of working on planned and preventative maintenance schedules in a high‑speed automated setting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a commitment to continuous learning.
