Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Night Shift)

About the role

An established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Night Shift Maintenance Engineer to support a high‑precision production environment. The role is fully nights and is key to ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on CNC and other manufacturing equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform fault‑finding to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
• Support continuous‑improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety procedures, including isolations and permits.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or precision‑engineering environment.
• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3) in electrical, mechanical or multi‑skilled engineering.
• Strong mechanical background with electrical fault‑finding capability.
• Experience of PPM and reactive/breakdown maintenance.
• Experience assembling complex mechanical assemblies and optimising processes.
• Comfortable working independently on night shifts.
