Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (£47,598)

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to join a highly automated FMCG manufacturing site in Leyland as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will work within a supportive engineering team, handling both reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of modern production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Maintain equipment such as pallet wrappers, conveyors, packaging machines, cutting machines, compressors and boilers.
• Perform electrical fault finding on single‑ and three‑phase systems, motors, inverters, relays and drives.
• Execute mechanical maintenance including hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, chains and belts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Complete all maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
• Work in line with health & safety, quality and operational standards.

Required profile

• Multi‑skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering.

Required skills

• Electrical fault finding (single‑ and three‑phase).
• Motor, inverter, relay and drive troubleshooting.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
• Gearbox, bearing, chain and belt maintenance.
• Preventative and reactive maintenance techniques.
