Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer – £48k‑£51.5k + Shift Allowance

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a global engineering and manufacturing leader. You will be based in Huddersfield, working on a variety of mechanical and electrical plant assets to maximise uptime and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on CNC machines, PLC‑controlled equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gearboxes and valves.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on both mechanical and electrical systems, including single‑phase and three‑phase circuits.
• Install, commission and relocate machinery, ensuring all electrical work complies with safety standards.
• Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement cost‑effective, long‑term solutions.
• Support apprentices and junior engineers while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Recognised electrical or mechanical qualification (apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent).
• Strong experience in a manufacturing or production maintenance environment.
• Proven fault‑finding ability across electrical, mechanical and PLC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings.
• Good communication, organisational and teamwork skills.

What we offer

• Basic salary £48,000‑£51,500 per annum plus 18% shift allowance.
