Multi‑Skilled Operative – Carpentry & Plumbing

About the role

We are seeking Multi‑Skilled Operatives to join our Voids team, delivering high‑quality repairs, maintenance and property improvements across homes in Croydon and surrounding areas. The role involves a mix of carpentry, plumbing and other trade work, with each day offering varied tasks from simple fixes to full refurbishments.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works in void properties to bring homes up to standard.
• Perform multi‑trade tasks including carpentry, plumbing, painting & decorating and general repairs.
• Undertake larger refurbishment projects, working independently or as part of a small team.
• Assess properties to determine the most effective repair or replacement solutions.
• Use mobile technology to manage jobs while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in a core trade – Carpentry (NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2) or Plumbing (NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 3) – or equivalent experience.
• Practical experience in both carpentry and plumbing.
• Proven multi‑trade experience delivering high‑standard repairs and refurbishments.
• Ability to assess properties and decide on the best course of work.
• Adaptable, flexible and able to support wider teams when needed.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently.

What we offer

• Permanent full‑time role – 37 hours per week (8:00 am‑4:30 pm, Mon‑Fri).
