Multi‑trade Operative – General Building Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a qualified multi‑trade operative to join a leading education establishment in Reading. You will work Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑4:00 pm, applying a range of trade skills across a diverse estate while enjoying a balanced, low‑pressure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs and minor building works.
• Perform brickwork, roofing maintenance and patch plastering.
• Repair pathways, surfaces and external areas.
• Undertake general estate upkeep and minor building projects.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a recognised trade such as Brickwork, Carpentry, Roofing, General Building, Plastering or Electrical.
• Experience in estates, facilities management, property maintenance, construction or a similar environment.
• Practical, problem‑solving attitude with a multi‑skilled approach.
