National Sales Manager

About the role

The company is a long‑established manufacturing business seeking a National Sales Manager to grow sales through a network of packaging distributors across the UK, Ireland and selected European markets. You will manage an established territory, nurture existing relationships and drive future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Grow sales through packaging distributors across the UK, Ireland and selected European markets.
• Build and maintain relationships with distributor owners, purchasing teams, sales personnel and product managers.
• Support customers with product trials, technical demonstrations, training and issue resolution.
• Identify and onboard new distribution partners to expand market coverage.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
• Deliver agreed revenue, volume and margin objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer support and service.

Required profile

• Proven track record of selling through distributor channels within the packaging sector.
• Experience with packaging consumables, industrial products or related manufacturing solutions.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to develop strategic customer relationships and manage a large geographic territory.
• Hands‑on approach with confidence in supporting technical product discussions and demonstrations.
• Self‑motivated, proactive style with the ability to work autonomously.
• Based in South East England (preferred).
• Additional language skills (French, German, Dutch or Spanish) advantageous.
