Neighbourhood Manager – Housing Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Neighbourhood Manager to lead tenancy and neighbourhood management services for a local authority in Welwyn Garden City. This full‑time, temporary position offers the chance to shape service delivery across a diverse housing portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of tenancy management services across the council's housing stock.
• Manage neighbourhood and estate operations, maintaining high service standards.
• Oversee and resolve complex tenancy cases, providing professional advice.
• Identify and implement service improvements to enhance neighbourhood management.
• Monitor performance against KPIs and corporate objectives.
• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Neighbourhood Officers.
• Manage staff performance and support professional development.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with residents, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with housing legislation, policies, and procedures.

Required profile

• Significant experience in tenancy or housing management.
• Strong knowledge of current housing legislation, policy and best practice.
• Proven experience leading and managing teams.
• Experience handling complex tenancy and neighbourhood issues.
• Ability to set objectives, monitor performance and drive improvements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Customer‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
