Neighbourhood Officer – Outer Greater Manchester

About the role

As a Neighbourhood Officer for the Outer Greater Manchester area, you will be the visible local presence ensuring safe, well‑managed homes and thriving neighbourhoods. You will work closely with customers, colleagues and partners to deliver the Neighbourhood Strategy and meet regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a high‑quality housing management service across tenancy, property and neighbourhood management.
• Manage a patch of properties, identifying risks, supporting tenancy sustainment and maintaining safe communities.
• Lead income management, handling high‑level arrears, legal action, court attendance and eviction processes.
• Conduct regular property inspections, tenancy visits and estate checks, addressing issues and safeguarding customers.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including ASB services, to resolve community concerns.
• Work to minimise voids, improve customer outcomes and support community engagement.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
• Good understanding of housing management, rent arrears processes, mutual exchanges or successions (advantageous).
• Experience working within a team and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Passion for advocating on behalf of people and communities.
