.NET Backend Developer – Remote

About the role

Our client builds AI‑powered products for the property and insurance markets in the UK and Australia. The platform helps insurers, loss adjusters and contractors assess damage, generate estimates and produce structured reports. This is a hands‑on backend engineering position focused on building, reviewing and operating production code.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain micro‑service based backend systems using C# and modern .NET (8+).
• Implement and operate Azure services such as App Service, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Service Bus and Key Vault.
• Write infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform and manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Apply API gateway patterns, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect to secure services.
• Integrate AI components into production services, handling prompt design, model versioning and performance trade‑offs.
• Collaborate with the team using Jira or Azure DevOps for delivery and code reviews.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience with C# and modern .NET (8+).
• Production‑grade experience with Blazor.
• Hands‑on experience designing and operating micro‑services.
• Proficiency with Azure (App Service, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Service Bus, Key Vault).
• Experience using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines for CI/CD.
• Knowledge of API security standards such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
• Practical experience integrating AI components into services.
• Comfortable using Claude Code or comparable AI‑assisted development tools.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
