Network Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Network Engineer to maintain and enhance Imerys’ UK network infrastructure. The role combines day‑to‑day operational support with participation in network upgrade and security projects, working closely with UK and international IT teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 80% of time network operations support across all Imerys sites, ensuring performance, availability and security.
• Manage incidents and change requests through ServiceNow, delivering timely updates.
• Monitor, analyse and troubleshoot complex issues in Cisco and Palo Alto environments.
• Perform system backups, patching, routine maintenance and maintain accurate asset inventories.
• Support business continuity and disaster‑recovery activities.
• Contribute 20% of time to network improvement projects, including installation and configuration of Cisco and Palo Alto routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, SD‑WAN and VPN solutions.
• Help refine global networking policies and produce clear technical documentation.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent in Computing, IT or related field.
• Fluent English.
• Minimum 3 years of operational experience with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within technical teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% across UK sites and occasional EMEA locations.
• Legal entitlement to drive in the UK.
