Network Security Engineer (London, 6‑month contract)

About the role

A leading client is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement and support critical network security solutions across a global enterprise. The role is based in London and operates on a hybrid basis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical resolution of complex network security incidents and change requests.
• Develop secure logical designs for firewalls, load balancers, Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs.
• Configure, monitor and maintain Check Point firewalls, F5 load balancers and Cisco ISE platforms.
• Analyse network traffic, troubleshoot congestion and optimise performance.
• Apply technical governance to ensure smooth transition of projects into live service.
• Continuously monitor and improve network resilience, performance and security.

Required profile

• Strong experience with enterprise network security technologies.
• Proven ability to design and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs.
• Solid understanding of routing and switching concepts.
• Hands‑on expertise with Check Point firewalls.
• Demonstrated experience with F5 load balancers (LTM/GTM).
• Experience administering Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
• Excellent troubleshooting and incident management skills.
