Network Security Engineer On Site

About the role

Join a team of experienced Network Security Engineers supporting a global bank’s highly secure network environment. Reporting to the Head of NOC, you will work on‑site in Central London two days a week and collaborate closely with the 24x7 NOC and internal customer teams.

Key responsibilities

• Create and modify device configurations across switching, routing and firewall platforms.
• Develop firewall policies for Cisco, Fortinet and Palo Alto devices.
• Perform daily health checks, monitor network performance and respond to incidents.
• Coordinate changes through ITIL processes, raise CAB requests and support out‑of‑hours deployments.
• Maintain design documentation, Visio diagrams and SolarWinds maps.

Required profile

• CCNP Enterprise certification (essential) and additional certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4, Cisco CCNP Security, ITIL Foundation.
• Proven L2/L3 network support experience, including escalation handling for high‑priority incidents.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Required skills

• Cisco FTD, ACI, Nexus and Catalyst switches, IOS routers and ISE.
• Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, complex NAT and load balancing (F5 BigIP).
• Automation tools such as Ansible and Cisco Catalyst Centre.
• Network monitoring with SolarWinds and experience with cloud connectivity (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI).
