New Business / Trading Underwriter

About the role

IPS Group is seeking a New Business / Trading Underwriter to join its specialist property team in Manchester. The role focuses on driving income growth, improving conversion rates and building broker relationships across a portfolio of non‑standard property risks.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new business property risks across specialist lines such as landlord, unoccupied and overseas residential properties.
• Drive profitable growth and improve conversion performance through effective pricing and risk assessment.
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships, representing the business at meetings and market events.
• Negotiate terms, win new business and retain existing accounts with full underwriting authority.

Required profile

• Experience underwriting household, property or specialist lines, with a commercial mindset.
• Ability to build and nurture broker relationships and influence market positioning.
• Motivation to work in a trading‑focused environment and deliver measurable results.
