New Product Project Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced New Product Project Manager to lead the introduction and development of new products within a manufacturing environment. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams from enquiry or contract award through to production handover, ensuring projects meet time, budget, and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead NPI and product development projects through a structured gated process.
• Create and maintain detailed project plans using Microsoft Project.
• Coordinate engineering, quality, production, purchasing, and operations teams.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, actions, costs, timelines, and quality requirements.
• Support manufacturability reviews, production readiness activities, and compliance with AS9100 or equivalent standards.
• Chair project meetings, provide progress reports, and drive successful production handovers.
• Promote continuous improvement of project delivery processes.

Required profile

• Proven project management experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
• Background in aerospace, defence, automotive, precision engineering, machining, or casting.
• Strong knowledge of NPI processes and gated project methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Desirable: PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification.
