Newly Qualified Commercial Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a growing, privately‑owned construction business to find a Newly Qualified Commercial Accountant for their finance team in Runcorn. The role sits within the finance function, reporting to the Financial Controller, and combines management accounting with business partnering to influence strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and board reports.
• Act as finance business partner for designated business units, providing commercial insights.
• Cash‑flow forecasting and working‑capital management.
• Perform financial analysis and performance reporting across projects and units.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within finance.
• Develop and strengthen financial controls and processes.
• Provide commercial insight to support future growth plans.

Required profile

• Ambitious and proactive finance professional.
• Recently qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
• Experience or interest in the construction sector (desirable).
• Strong management accounting and business partnering experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commercial mindset with a hands‑on approach.
• Confidence to challenge, influence and drive positive change.
