Newly Qualified Family Solicitor

About the role

Our client, an established law firm in Sutton, is looking for a newly qualified Family Solicitor to join a supportive family law team. This permanent, full‑time position offers a structured environment with close supervision and clear progression pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied private family law caseload appropriate to experience level.
• Advise clients on divorce, separation, financial remedy, private children matters, cohabitation disputes, and pre/post‑nuptial agreements.
• Draft legal documentation and court applications.
• Attend court hearings as required.
• Support senior fee earners on more complex matters.
• Maintain excellent client care with an empathetic approach.
• Contribute to business development and client relationship building.

Required profile

• Newly qualified solicitor (or up to 2 years PQE) with a strong interest in family law.
• Experience from a family law training seat or equivalent post‑qualification exposure.
• Good understanding of private family law matters.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and client‑focused mindset.
• Collaborative and proactive attitude.
