Newly Qualified Solicitor

About the role

This position is for a newly qualified solicitor joining a dynamic legal team that provides advice and representation to a range of public sector clients. You will work alongside senior lawyers, ministers and departmental officials on high‑profile matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and guidance to government departments on a variety of issues.
• Draft and review legislation, policy documents and contractual agreements.
• Manage a caseload that may include litigation, advisory, commercial and employment matters.
• Collaborate with colleagues across different legal specialties to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Required profile

• A qualified solicitor (or equivalent barrister/chartered legal executive).
• Strong analytical judgement and the ability to produce balanced, risk‑based advice.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex legal issues clearly.
• Willingness to develop expertise across multiple areas of law.
