Night Awake Officer – SEN Residential

About the role
The Night Awake Officer provides 24‑hour care and supervision for pupils in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) residential setting. Working on‑site at the school in Chelmsford, you will ensure the health, welfare and comfort of all students during night hours.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver agreed behavioural and educational programmes throughout the night.
- Monitor pupils while they sleep and record any incidents.
- Complete comprehensive nighttime reports and maintain required records.
- Alert appropriate staff members promptly when support is needed.
- Build constructive relationships with pupils, colleagues and the wider school community.
- Attend relevant school meetings and share ideas for improvement.
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Engage in training and take responsibility for personal professional development.
- Participate in performance reviews and identify further learning opportunities.
- Contribute to the overall ethos and objectives of the school and Trust.
