Night Driver Trainer

About the role

Maritime Transport is seeking a Night Driver Trainer to deliver on‑road and classroom training across its Liverpool, Runcorn and Manchester depots. You will work closely with Transport Managers and Driver Administrators to ensure all drivers meet CPC requirements and adopt best practices in defensive driving, fuel efficiency and vehicle handling.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and train HGV drivers during night shifts, both one‑on‑one and in group sessions.
• Deliver training on defensive driving, fuel economy, and proper use of vehicles and trailers.
• Produce confidential electronic training reports and maintain accurate driver records.
• Coordinate training schedules around driver workloads and operational demands.
• Travel regularly between depots and occasionally stay overnight to meet training needs.

Required profile

• Experienced HGV1 driver trainer with a solid understanding of container transport and distribution operations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including night hours and travel between locations.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
