Night Manager – Retail Store

About the role

As a Night Manager you will lead the night team to keep the store running smoothly while the rest of the world sleeps. You will ensure high availability, top shop‑floor standards and a safe, legal environment for customers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute all trading activity on the shop‑floor during the night shift, managing deliveries, waste and returns to minimise damage.
• Lead, coach and develop night colleagues and team leaders to deliver excellent standards and a culture of enthusiastic selling.
• Ensure the shop‑floor is presentable for customers before handing over to the day team, with promotions, foyer and hot‑spots ready for trade.
• Drive talent development by listening with empathy, encouraging resilience, ownership and the “Asdaness” in daily work.

Required profile

• Experience supervising or managing teams in a retail grocery environment, ideally overnight.
• Ability to make independent decisions with a hands‑on attitude and a drive to improve processes and people.
• Confidence in developing teams and managing change.
• Strong customer‑service focus.
• Flexibility to work a range of night shifts, including weekends.
