Night Porter – Hotel Night Shift

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Night Porter to oversee the safety and smooth operation of a prestigious hotel venue during the overnight hours. The role runs from 12:00 am to 08:00 am, covering both event nights with overnight guests and regular hotel nights.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and secure all areas of the hotel between midnight and 8 am, including locking/unlocking main doors and patrolling for theft, vandalism, or fire hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness standards by clearing rubbish, debris, and cigarette ends from public areas and preparing function rooms for the next event, which may involve moving and lifting furniture.
• Respond to guest enquiries in person or by telephone, providing assistance and resolving issues promptly.
• Record and report any maintenance breakdowns, safety incidents, or incomplete set‑ups to the relevant teams.
• Administer first aid when required and act as the designated First‑Aid responder on duty.
• Perform minor ad‑hoc maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, and general upkeep of the venue.

Required profile

• Ability to work night shifts consistently and remain alert throughout the shift.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving furniture and equipment.
• First‑Aid certification and willingness to act as the on‑site first responder.
• Good understanding of health‑and‑safety and fire evacuation procedures.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and reporting incidents.
