Night Receptionist

About the role

We are looking for a Night Receptionist to join the Front Office team at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere in Knutsford. Working overnight, you will be the main point of contact for guests and ensure the hotel runs smoothly throughout the night and is prepared for the day ahead.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times.
• Handle arrival and departure processes for all guests, adhering to standard operating procedures.
• Respond to in‑house guest requests and record feedback according to SOPs.
• Ensure accuracy of guest credit, billing and financial transactions.
• Maintain data accuracy in all systems and provide daily reports for all departments.
• Complete night reception tasks correctly and accurately per SOPs.
• Quote correct rates in line with the selling strategy and website.
• Answer telephone calls quickly and efficiently.
• Monitor guests and their property to minimise security alerts.
• Report maintenance issues to the appropriate department and verify completion.
• Maintain the integrity and cleanliness of public and back‑of‑house areas, correcting deficiencies immediately.
• Collaborate with hotel teams and outsourced partners to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Keep the reception desk clean, tidy and presentable at all times.

Required profile

• Front office experience within a luxury hotel setting.
• Exceptional communication suited to a 5‑star guest experience.
• Ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS).
