Night Shift Production Operative – Hailsham

About the role

We are seeking reliable Night Shift Production Operatives to join a forward‑thinking manufacturing business in Hailsham, East Sussex. The role involves working the night shift, 48 hours per week, to support continuous production and ensure high quality output.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and prepare machinery at the start of each night shift.
• Carry out safety and quality checks before and during production runs.
• Monitor machine performance, log run‑time and downtime, and optimise processes.
• Perform basic maintenance, cleaning and end‑of‑shift equipment checks.
• Operate pallet jacks and other material‑handling equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and report any issues to the Production Manager.

Required profile

• Physically fit and able to follow manual handling procedures.
• Good understanding of health and safety in a production setting.
• Reliable with strong time‑keeping and work ethic.
• Willingness to learn, follow written and verbal instructions, and work alternative shifts if needed.

Required skills

• Pallet jack operation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic maths and measurement abilities.
• Manual handling knowledge.
