Night Support Worker – Children’s Home (Full‑time)

About the role

The Night Support Worker provides 24‑hour care for young people living in our children’s homes. Working on a 4‑night on / 4‑night off rota, you will be the first point of contact during the night, offering reassurance and practical support when residents experience distress, trauma or health issues.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to any night‑time incidents, providing emotional and practical support to young people.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the night, including monitoring alarms and conducting safety checks.
• Complete required paperwork, update care records and communicate relevant information to day‑shift staff.
• Undertake routine housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry and tidying communal areas.
• Collaborate with senior staff to develop and implement individual care plans.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
• Ability to build trust and rapport quickly, especially during crisis moments.
• Reliability and excellent attendance, as the role depends on consistent night coverage.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
