Night Support Worker – Children’s Homes

About the role

Join our residential children’s homes as a Night Support Worker, providing 24‑hour care and stability for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work a 4‑night on / 4‑night off pattern, ensuring safety and support throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to any night‑time incidents, including trauma, illness or distress, offering calm and empathetic support.
• Maintain a secure and comfortable environment by completing paperwork, cleaning, and laundry duties during quieter periods.
• Build trusting relationships with residents, acting as a reliable point of contact during their most vulnerable moments.
• Document observations and incidents accurately to inform daytime staff and care plans.

Required profile

• Genuine commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable young people.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts while adhering to safeguarding policies.
• Resilience and emotional intelligence to handle challenging situations.

Required skills

• Basic record‑keeping and administrative abilities.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures in a residential setting.
