Night Support Worker - Children's Homes

About the role

As a Night Support Worker you will provide compassionate care and safety for young people living in our children’s homes during the night shift (4 on / 4 off). You will be a trusted presence for residents experiencing trauma, illness, or distress, helping them feel secure and supported.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to young people who wake during the night, offering emotional support and de‑escalation.
• Maintain a safe and calm environment throughout the night.
• Complete paperwork, cleaning, and laundry duties during quieter periods.
• Document incidents and observations accurately.
• Collaborate with day‑time staff to ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Commitment to a night‑shift pattern (4 nights on, 4 nights off).
• Experience or genuine interest in supporting young people with social, emotional, or mental‑health needs.
• Strong attendance record and reliability.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable individuals.
• Professional, compassionate, and resilient attitude.
