Night Support Worker – Children’s Homes (North West England)

About the role

Join a residential children’s home team providing overnight care and support to young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be a trusted presence during night hours, helping residents manage trauma, illness or sleep difficulties while ensuring the home runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, one‑to‑one support to residents who wake during the night.
• Maintain a safe and calm environment throughout the night shift.
• Complete paperwork, cleaning, laundry and other household tasks during quieter periods.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and report any concerns to senior staff.
• Build trusting relationships with young people to promote positive outcomes.

Required profile

• Commitment to working night shifts on a 4‑on/4‑off rota.
• Ability to respond calmly to trauma‑related situations.
• Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
• Willingness to undertake administrative and domestic duties.
• Passion for supporting vulnerable youth and helping them achieve stability.
