Night Support Worker – Night Concierge (Hatfield)

About the role
This position provides a night‑time concierge service for residents and visitors of a homeless hostel in the Hatfield/Welwyn Garden City area. You will work on a 4‑on‑4‑off roster, covering the hours from 8:30 pm to 8:45 am.
Key responsibilities
- Control access to the building and monitor CCTV systems for incidents.
- Carry out regular patrols and intervene in anti‑social behaviour.
- Act as fire warden and coordinate response to fire alarms.
- Contact the on‑call manager for emergencies or serious incidents.
- Provide compassionate support to vulnerable residents, including mental‑health crisis assistance.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a similar night‑shift role, preferably within a hostel or housing charity.
- Valid UK driver’s licence.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one within three years).
- Experience working with vulnerable clients.
Required skills
- CCTV monitoring and operation.
What we offer
- £15 per hour (PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay).
- Temporary‑to‑permanent contract after an initial three‑month period.
- 42–48 hours per week on a night shift schedule.
