Nightstop Coordinator

About the role

The Nightstop Coordinator will lead a life‑changing service that helps young people experiencing homelessness find safe emergency accommodation and a pathway to longer‑term housing. Based at Sherborne House in London, you will work closely with referral partners, volunteer hosts and local agencies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for young people and referral partners, providing advice and sign‑posting.
• Conduct needs and risk assessments for potential Nightstop guests.
• Coordinate placement logistics with volunteer hosts, including travel and home assessments.
• Work with partners to identify longer‑term accommodation options and support guests through transition.
• Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call rota to provide ongoing support to guests and volunteers.
• Ensure compliance with data‑protection, information‑sharing and safeguarding protocols.
• Recruit, interview, DBS‑check and onboard volunteer hosts following safer recruitment practices.
• Deliver training, supervision and regular forums for volunteers.

Required profile

• Proactive, compassionate professional with experience supporting vulnerable young people.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and data‑protection procedures.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with partners, volunteers and service users.
• Highly organised, resilient and able to manage a 24‑hour on‑call rota.
