NIHL Auditor – Military Deafness

About the role

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of technical excellence in Legacy by undertaking technical audits and providing constructive feedback and mentoring to the file‑handling teams, identifying trends and training needs and supporting the technical development of our Legacy lawyers. The auditor will assess file‑handling performance against internal technical standards and deliver recommendations to improve technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assess file‑handling performance against internal technical standards.
• Identify recommended actions and deliver constructive feedback to develop technical skills.
• Conduct bespoke file audits on request of Technical Directors or Business Unit Directors.
• Provide feedback arising from client SLA audits.
• Identify and assess areas of financial leakage or other business risks.
• Prepare oral and written reports with findings, recommendations and action plans.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying audit trends and recommending training.

Required profile

• Understanding of NIHL claims (military deafness experience not essential).
• Experience managing a NIHL caseload.
• Clear and effective communicator with strong report‑writing ability.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet targets and self‑organise.
• High attention to detail and ability to remain calm and objective.
• Good level of IT skills.
• British nationality (sole or dual) due to national security requirements.
