NOC Engineer (AWS) – Remote (UK)

About the role

We are looking for a NOC Engineer with strong AWS expertise to build and maintain resilient cloud platforms that support critical national services. The role is fully remote within the UK and operates on a 24/7 shift pattern (28‑day rota).

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain highly available production platforms running in AWS.
• Respond to and manage production incidents across a 24/7 service.
• Investigate complex technical issues and restore services quickly.
• Develop automation to reduce manual tasks and improve platform resilience.
• Build and improve monitoring, alerting and observability across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with Software, Platform, Cloud and Security Engineers to enhance reliability.
• Contribute to post‑incident reviews and drive continuous service improvements.
• Support containerised workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.

Required profile

• Experience in Production Engineering, Cloud Operations or NOC environments.
• Linux systems administration experience.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Background in production support and incident management.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash or Go.
• Knowledge of monitoring platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk or CloudWatch.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, TCP/IP and load balancing.
• Passion for automation, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) or SRE principles is a plus.
