NOC Operations Manager – Remote

About the role

We are seeking an experienced NOC Operations Manager to lead our Network Operations Centre. The role is fully remote within the UK, with occasional travel to Milton Keynes and customer sites. You will combine hands‑on technical work with team leadership to ensure high‑quality managed services across a complex, multi‑platform environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the NOC team to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Manage and optimise Linux, Windows Server and Windows 10/11 environments.
• Administer VMware ESXi virtual infrastructure and implement high‑availability and load‑balancing solutions.
• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot networking components including DNS, routing, firewalls and load balancers.
• Maintain web services and proxy technologies such as Apache, NGINX and Squid.
• Oversee backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery processes using Veeam.
• Implement endpoint security and device compliance via Microsoft Intune.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and system standards.
• Participate in an on‑call rota to support critical incidents and ensure service continuity.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure operations or NOC environments.
• Proven track record of leading technical teams.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in Linux and Windows Server/Windows 10/11.
• Advanced VMware ESXi administration.
• Solid networking knowledge – DNS, routing, firewalls and load balancing.
• Experience with Apache, NGINX, Squid or similar web technologies.
• Proficiency with Veeam backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Intune for endpoint security.
• Scripting and automation experience.
