Non-Domestic Rating Caseworker

About the role

The Non-Domestic Rating Caseworker role supports HMRC Valuation Office in delivering accurate property valuations that underpin public revenue collection. You will combine desk‑based analysis with extensive field work, inspecting a wide range of commercial premises across England and Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Spend up to 80% of working time conducting on‑site inspections of retail, office, industrial and other commercial properties.
• Travel across a broad geographical area, often to locations that are not easily accessible.
• Initiate and maintain contact with customers, local authorities and agents via phone, email or in person to progress cases efficiently.
• Collect, record and analyse property data using inspection tools, system records and online platforms to produce fair assessments.
• Identify opportunities for business improvement, share feedback and develop professional networks.
