Nordic & Polar Travel Specialist

About the role

This leading destination‑specialist tour operator is seeking a dynamic travel professional to sell bespoke and package holidays across the Nordic and Polar regions, including expedition cruises. The role is hybrid, based in a modern Surrey office with the flexibility to work from home.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build bespoke trips that meet client requirements.
• Handle reservations via phone, email and live chat.
• Maximise upselling and sell ancillary products to achieve revenue targets.
• Provide exceptional, personalised customer service and resolve queries.
• Conduct regular follow‑ups to improve conversion rates and gather feedback.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of destinations and product range.
• Cross‑sell additional destinations that suit customer needs.

Required profile

• Proven travel sales expertise with a track record of meeting sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of the Nordics and/or Polar regions gained through sales experience or personal travel.
• Excellent customer service and administrative abilities.
• Effective influencing, negotiation and communication skills.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Results‑driven, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Previous experience in roles such as reservations consultant, travel consultant, travel agent, tailor‑made consultant, travel specialist or travel advisor.

What we offer

• Base salary £30,000‑£33,000 per year plus realistic commission of £7,000‑£10,000.
• Hybrid working model – 2 days in the office (1 day for experienced candidates).
• Flexible office hours (8‑4, 9‑5 or 10‑6) with occasional Saturday rota (≈1 per month).
• Out‑of‑hours phone cover on a rota basis with additional £250 weekly payment.
