About the role
This position offers a brilliant opportunity to join a well‑known manufacturing business in Blackburn as a New Product Introduction (NPI) Project Engineer. You will coordinate cross‑functional engineering activities, champion Agile project management, and ensure seamless alignment across teams throughout the development phases of new products.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate all development‑phase activities required to advance new products through the NPI process while maintaining alignment with company standards.
- Lead Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand‑ups and retrospectives.
- Maintain and prioritise the development backlog, define tasks, sequence them according to project objectives and track progress against milestones.
- Monitor sprint progress, identify risks or delays early, and escalate issues to ensure timely delivery.
- Serve as the central point of coordination for engineering tasks during each sprint cycle and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Support prototype and sample production, ensuring all deliverables, documentation and approvals are complete.
- Define and execute validation plans including SOPs, ITPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans and Risk Assessments.
- Drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for issues identified during prototype phases.
- Utilise PLM systems, ERP tools, MS Project/Planner and Lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency.
Required profile
- Significant experience in NPI project engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to manage Agile projects and lead cross‑functional teams.
- Strong organisational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines and quality standards.
