Nursery Assistant – Early Years Support in Waltham Forest

About the role

We are seeking a caring Nursery Assistant to join our friendly early years settings across Waltham Forest, East London. You will support children’s learning and wellbeing through play‑based activities and high‑quality care in a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist children with daily routines, personal care and mealtimes.
• Support learning through play and deliver EYFS‑aligned activities.
• Create a safe, stimulating and engaging classroom environment.
• Promote children’s communication, social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with experienced practitioners and maintain safeguarding and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.

Required profile

• Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (essential).
• Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting.
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Caring, patient and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting young children’s development.
