Nursery Assistant – Early Years Support

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join early years settings across Chester and Cheshire West. You will work alongside room leaders to create a safe, stimulating environment where young children can explore, learn and develop key milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Assist room leaders in planning and setting up engaging, play‑based learning activities.
• Support children individually or in small groups, fostering their early learning journey.
• Apply knowledge of the EYFS curriculum to guide daily routines and activities.
• Supervise and encourage children during meals, snack times and outdoor play.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an education or early years setting.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of early years educational frameworks (EYFS).
