Nursery Assistant – Early Years Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are partnering with a mainstream primary school in Wavertree to recruit a full‑time Nursery Assistant for their SEN Hub. You will support the care, learning and development of young children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Key responsibilities

• Support the care, learning and development of children according to EYFS standards.
• Work under the direction of the Nursery Practitioner or Room Leader to deliver daily activities and routines.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for all children.
• Facilitate social, emotional, physical and educational development through play‑based learning.
• Observe, monitor and record children’s progress and wellbeing.
• Maintain positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Support inclusive practice and meet individual needs, including those of children with SEND.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with early years in a mainstream or private nursery.
• Relevant early years qualification.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
