Nursery Assistant – Level 3 (Temporary, Flexible)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Level 3 Nursery Assistant to provide short‑term, ad‑hoc and bank cover across a range of nurseries in Colchester and surrounding Essex areas. This flexible role allows you to gain experience in different early years settings while fitting around your lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Support the daily care, safety and development of children.
• Assist with play‑based learning activities and educational experiences.
• Promote a fun, nurturing and stimulating environment.
• Help with mealtimes, routines and personal care as needed.
• Work alongside nursery teams to deliver high‑quality childcare.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.

Required profile

• Passionate about working with children.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Friendly, approachable with excellent communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to different nursery settings.
• Knowledgeable about safeguarding and early years best practice.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
