About the role
Join Hays as a Nursery Bank Staff member and work across a variety of early years settings in Brighton, Hove and Portslade. This flexible, temporary position allows you to choose the days you work each week while gaining experience with children aged 3 months to 5 years.
Key responsibilities
- Support nursery staff in daily activities and classroom set‑up.
- Assist with tidying rooms and maintaining a safe environment.
- Engage children in play and learning activities.
- Adapt to the specific needs of each setting you are placed in.
Required profile
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification preferred, or recent relevant experience as a nursery assistant.
- Reliability, adaptability and enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Willingness to be hands‑on and support the team as needed.

- Competitive hourly rate of £14.24‑£15, inclusive of holiday pay.
