Nursery Deputy Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Deputy Manager to support the day‑to‑day operation of a busy nursery. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help lead the team, maintain high standards of care and education, and create a safe, stimulating environment for children.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with daily running of the nursery.
• Lead, motivate and coach staff, providing support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
• Promote high‑quality learning, care and development for all children.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and external professionals.
• Assist with staff supervision, training, recruitment and performance management.
• Act as Nursery Manager in their absence.

Required profile

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum).
• Previous experience in a senior nursery role such as Room Leader or Deputy Manager.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Genuine passion for delivering outstanding childcare.
