Nursery Domestic Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Domestic Assistant to join our team at Brinds Well Day Nursery in Orpington. You will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children, staff and visitors, working 25 hours per week across the mornings.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect classrooms, bathrooms and kitchen areas following health‑and‑safety standards.
• Empty bins, sweep, mop floors and perform high‑level dusting throughout the nursery.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms and kitchen, support the kitchen team with washing‑up and manage laundry.
• Ensure safe storage and correct use of cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
• Assist with occasional deep‑cleaning projects and maintain cleaning records.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a professional housekeeper or cleaner, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
• Good knowledge of COSHH and ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals.
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to hygiene standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following established procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Understanding of health‑and‑safety and safeguarding principles.
