Nursery Manager

About the role

Kindred Nurseries is seeking an inspiring Nursery Manager to lead a vibrant early years setting in North London. You will shape a nurturing environment where children thrive, families feel valued, and staff are motivated to deliver exceptional care and education.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and develop the leadership team, including the Deputy Manager, Third in Charge and Room Leaders.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inspiring nursery environment aligned with EYFS and Ofsted standards.
• Drive outstanding educational outcomes while managing occupancy, budgets, KPIs and commercial performance.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring compliance with legislation and Kindred policies.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, colleagues and the local community.
• Conduct nursery tours and promote Kindred as the preferred choice in the area.
• Lead safeguarding, health and safety, and quality assurance activities and prepare for audits and inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience in early years settings, preferably in a managerial or senior leadership role.
• Strong understanding of EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, KPIs and commercial performance.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with children, families and staff.
• Commitment to high standards of safeguarding, health and safety.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Familiarity with Ofsted inspection criteria.
• Budget management and KPI tracking.
• Safeguarding, health and safety compliance.
