Nursery Room Leader – Third in Charge

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to take on the role of Nursery Room Leader and Third in Charge at our well‑regarded nursery in Forest Row. This position offers the chance to manage your own room while supporting overall nursery operations when senior managers are absent.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a dedicated early years room, delivering high‑quality EYFS activities.
• Act as Third in Charge, handling daily operations, compliance, opening and closing duties.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with parents and carers.
• Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (NNEB, CACHE, NVQ or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, or Nursery Nurse seeking progression.
• Deep understanding of the EYFS curriculum, child development and safeguarding procedures.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate a small team.
