Nursery Teacher – Maternity Cover (Full‑time)

About the role

A mainstream primary school in Roehampton is seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Teacher to join its Early Years team on a full‑time maternity cover contract starting in September. You will lead a well‑established Nursery class, creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where young children can thrive during the earliest stage of their education.

Key responsibilities

• Take full classroom responsibility, including planning, assessment, marking and reporting.
• Deliver creative, play‑based learning in line with the EYFS Framework.
• Support children’s communication, language, social and emotional development.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with support staff, parents and the wider school community to achieve excellent outcomes.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching in Early Years, preferably within a Nursery setting.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Passionate, nurturing and creative approach to early childhood education.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• Thorough knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
