Nursery Team Leader (Under‑2s)

About the role

Join Childbase Partnership as a Nursery Team Leader for an Under‑2s room at Edwinstowe Day Nursery in Cambridge. This fixed‑term position runs for nine months, offering a varied shift pattern Monday‑Friday between 07:45 and 18:00, with the option to work a four‑ or five‑day week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of early years practitioners, ensuring high‑quality care and learning for children under two.
• Act as the Key Person, planning and delivering EYFS‑aligned activities that promote learning through play.
• Observe, assess, and record each child’s progress, sharing insights with parents and staff.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment, adhering to safeguarding policies.
• Support staff development through coaching, feedback, and team inset days.

Required profile

• DfE‑approved early years qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Minimum two years’ experience working in an early years setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
